A new hard-cover pictorial book featuring the Route 66 photos of
Michael Campanelli is coming off of the presses.  Campanelli’s
photos, which are currently on display in Pontiac’s Route 66 Hall of
Fame and Museum, chronicle his eight-day, 3000 mile sojourn
along the famed “mother road” from  California to Chicago.
Route 66: A Photo Journal is published by the Premier Print
Group of Champaign, IL, and includes high quality reproductions
of 170 of the nearly 1,100 photos taken by Campanelli on his trek.
According to Pontiac Tourism Director, Ellie Alexander,
Campanelli’s book “is wonderful.  His photos are colorful,
entertaining, and serve as visual reminders of the importance
which Route 66 once held for the nation.”  She added, “these
images document the past far more effectively than mere words
can.”

Campanelli is scheduled to hold two book signings in Pontiac
during 2009.  He will be available during the May 2nd and 3rd Red
Carpet Corridor Festival, and later for the Walldogs/Heritage
Days event June 25, 26, 27, and 28.  Copies of the book are
currently available at
Old City Hall Shoppes in Pontiac for $45 plus
tax.
